Five Gem
A Modifier sits in the left column and works on every word until you sell it. Its Quality is rolled when it is offered, and Buff raises it one step at a time.
By quality

|---|---|---|
| Normal | 5 → Emerald | If the word has exactly five tiles, a random tile of it becomes an Emerald tile. |
| Improved | 5 → Emerald | If the word has exactly five tiles, a random tile of it becomes an Emerald tile with +1 point. |
| Flawless | 5 → Emerald | If the word has exactly five tiles, a random tile of it becomes an Emerald tile with +2 points. |
| Marvelous | 5 → Emerald | If the word has exactly five tiles, a random tile of it becomes an Emerald tile with +3 points. |
| Perfect | 5 → Emerald | If the word has exactly five tiles, a random tile of it becomes an Emerald tile with +4 points. |
Changes
- v0.167.0 · 2026-10-22 Five Gem, Sixth Gem and Seventh Gold now turn special tiles too: the tile becomes an Emerald or Golden and gets the points.
- v0.116.0 · 2026-10-20 Sixth Gem, Seventh Gold and Five Gem no longer turn a tile that is already special. It keeps its effect and still gets the points, so a Dot at the end now doubles the word next to Bold.
- v0.113.0 · 2026-10-20 Five Gem marks the fifth slot of the submit zone, so you can see where a five-tile word ends.
- v0.113.0 · 2026-10-20 Five Gem and Sixth Gem now turn their tile into an Emerald in the word, with a little pop, before the tiles leave.
- v0.59.0 · 2026-10-18 Five Gem and Sixth Gem make their Emerald before the word scores, so it counts right away.
